Government has given the country a roadmap to take us out of lockdown, with steps back to more normal life. There are many caveats, checks and balances along the way that may delay some of the dates.
Scout Association are working with National Youth Association to agree on how Scouting will return and have given all Scout Groups in England key dates, with the assumption Government timelines do not change. Scouting can return face-to-face, outside only from 29th March and allowed to meet indoor from 12th April, with a preference to be outside as much as possible.
Scout Group road map is laid out below
| Task | Status |
|---|---|
| Risk Assessment: Amber status (allowed face-to-face Scouting) to be complete, signed off by Executive and Atherstone District Executive. | Complete |
| Scout Association and National Youth Agency to publish guidelines for our return. | Complete |
| Section Leadership from Beavers, Cubs & Scout sections discusses return and confirms those who want to return face-to-face. There is no pressure or requirement for any leader to return unless they feel they are ready to. | In Progress |
| Parents: Virtual meetings week commencing 22nd March to explain to parents what everyone needs to do for Scouting to return face-face. For parents who do not attend any of the virtual meetings, we cannot invite their young person to any face-to-face session inline with our approved Risk Assessment. | Not Started |
| Sessions: We are limited to a maximum of 15 young people and 5 leaders and OSM event registration is needed to ensure we do not exceed our maximum limits. | Planned |
