About the opportunity
One week you may play volleyball, the next get crafty making puppets, and the week after make a structure with spaghetti (yes, spaghetti!) – we call this pioneering. What we can guarantee is that no two weeks are the same as the young people do different things each week to earn their badges and awards.
We are open to boys and girls from all faiths, backgrounds and abilities and welcome everyone.
You will need to be able to
- communicate with young people of the relevant age range
- enjoy working with children
- good sense of humour
- common sense, patience and understanding
- creative and open to learning new skills
- minimum of 18 years of age
- required to undertake a DBS disclosure prior to the commencement of this appointment.
Our Scout group is growing. We need adults who are keen to try new things and have fun, to join our team of adults who run our Cub Pack.
We call this youth section Cubs, and they are great young people who are friendly, fun to be with and eager to try new experiences. We need adults to help us provide these fantastic opportunities to local young people. Our Leaders are normal people just like you, but by working together, they make extraordinary things happen!
Could you make a difference?
We meet weekly and are looking for someone to join our team of Leaders so if you can’t be there every week that’s OK. We understand and welcome you when you can come! Perhaps you could help us plan some of our fantastic activities or day trips instead. Whatever time you have to give we can find a role for you that you will find rewarding.
Practical Considerations
The role requires a practical person who can take the lead with activities, you may have experience working with young people, or you may be looking to gain experience. Scouting offers a great way to build your skills and experience while supporting your local community.
